LOH: Deva Premal & Miten

There is a sense of honor infusing everything Prabhu Miten & Deva Premal do. I had to push on in the call because that quality was so tangible in the mantra ‘Om Asatoma‘ they sang for us, it almost brought me to tears.

Chanting, Mantra & Devotion

They met through their guru Osho and it felt like more than chance. Recognizing your path comes through the calling of the heart and it seems natural to them to have enlightenment as your life focus.

They are at Home in their music. It is a natural expression & their performances are more like a Spiritual gathering of friends.

Deva feels that she has never made a decision about her life path, but is just seemed that it was the next logical thing to do; the next step happened naturally. If you are struggling Deva & Miten offered this guidance:

  • pure focus on your priorities
  • hold your intention & be very specific
  • maintain determination through the scary moments

Miten suggested that stepping out of your comfort zone is where you meet God. The experience of feeling looked after by something larger only happened for him after he went through some hard times and it was how trust evolved for him. His understanding of Love greatly expanded.

The silence is important with the mantras. Comparing sound & silence is similar to eating. There is a time to eat and a time to digest to gain the nourishment.

They travel and perform with Manose and are true Global Citizens. Some wonderful insights shared:

  • The less future there is, the more blissful we are. (in focus & being)
  • A mantra is a sound formula in Sanskrit similar to medicine
  • The Buddha field is a potent energy for transformation
  • All cultures are connected to the Divine through sound

I have heard Primal and Mitan before and have several of their CD’s. Listening to them speak and chant is such a reminder of listening to the space between the notes. For me, especially when listening to Primal’s angelic voice, it is easy to hear and feel the presence of GOD on the inside of me. The mantras do have an energy that seems tangible, raising the vibration inside of me, opening my heart in one of the easiest ways that has worked for me.
My intention is to listen to the space between words or sounds that I encounter in my day to day living, thus embracing GOD more and more on a continuous basis. Thank you for having them.

  • Lurline Aslanian:

I learned that the silence between chanting is as or more important than the mantra. And I learned the importance of persevering on my spiritual path.

Yes, I will use this information and I already have. I chant and then attune to the silence, chant, and become quiet and attune. It is amazing! I am inspired to deepen my spiritual practice!

  • Nina:

    Dear Lurline,
The silence was something I hadn’t really appreciated until this interview and their ability to flow on their path is so inspirational. Thank you for your comments.
    Best,
    Nina

  • Nina:

    Dear Maria,
You are welcome! They were absolute gems in sharing their story. I admire your wonderful intention to make observation of the space in between in your day to day living. It’s so easy to fill up those spaces and miss the magical moments.
    Warmly, Nina

  • Katrina Farrell:

Deva Premel & Mitten were incredible! The chanting touched my soul & made me cry.

    (1)What I learned:
They are so at one with themselves & the universe, that they are at home no matter where they are. How wonderful this world would be if we could all reach this state of being & become true “citizens of the world”.
    (2)How I will use this:
This has renewed & strengthened my desire to continue working on the inner me. It also made me take a good look @ my material belonings & how insignificant they are. I am now on a path to “lighten my load.
Thank you so much for this!
    Katrina

  • Nina:

    Dear Katrina,
You are very welcome and your feedback is insightful. I too was very moved by the short chant and they very much inspired me to open up further. I’m glad you connected with this call and that it impacted your life positively.
    Namaste, Nina
