April: Responsibility
“Nuggets” seem to be at the center of our Responsibility process. Honor is the key and wisdom is the reward.
Pebble in the Pond: Micro and Macro
Responsibility is a huge topic! Barbara Watson and I looked at a lot of angles with this call: Homelessness – Family – Self-Expectations – Physiology – Archetypes…
The definition that seemed most appropriate seemed to make the most sense for our purposes: The ability to self-reference in honor of your surroundings and honor of others.
The word itself really lends itself to our comments about presence:
- Responsibility -> responsible -> respond
- No mention of reacting, of being trapped, of feeling obligated
- It is a presence. It can be found in silence…
Silence is a lot more than not talking. Naked honesty is what you sit with once you are silent: Hold no expectations… Expectations go hand in hand with the word ‘should’ when held with inflexibility and can cause you to be ‘off your center’ and:
- Your (in)sight to be off so that you draw false conclusions
- Unexpected opportunity will bounce off of this field
- Even heroic archetypes are constraining although well-meaning
- This can limit your field of manifestation.
Self-centered is a good thing: To be centered within your spiritual center inside yourself. Being in the moment, each response that you will take is different because each moment is different.
Thank you Barbara for the guided meditation! Silence is not about not speaking. You can be receiving when you are silent. Where did your responsibilities go in the moment of silence?
Your Homework From:
- Nina: Evaluate and assess conceptually what are you responsible for in your prosperity consciousness: family, bills… prosperity: personal meaning… beyond the $
- Barbara: Be responsible to yourself to stop for 5 or 10 min in your day. Allow the silence with yourself (or do her included meditation)
LOH: Howard Martin
Being proactive about our resilience is important in improving our quality of life. Ups and downs are to be expected in life and it is our ability to respond that factors into our personal coherence.
The Resilience Factor: Building Your Energy Reserves During Changing Times
Sometimes life can deal us incredible stressors in terms of health, financial challenge, relationship concerns, and additionally we are all expected to consume and process mass amounts of information. There is rapid change which can influence us negatively or positively
.
Howard Martin was gracious in arriving for the call representing HeartMath & we had plenty of time to cover key points:
- They help people make attitudinal shifts to better work with ‘what is’
- Negativity creates an energy drain making us less resilient to stress
- We have our own energy field and are a part of a global field of energy, too
Resilience can be defined as something more than the ability to ‘bounce back’ and can include the ability to deflect and be less affected by stressors in life.
- There are real neurochemical changes that occur in personally activating appreciation, true care & compassion for others.
- Emotions move faster than the mind & the heart moves faster than the emotions… and the heart gives power to the mind.
- We all have the power of the heart and it is with us from birth.
Thank you Howard, for walking us through a coherence technique called “Attitude Breathing,” which can be used easily, several times a day as needed to help refocus and repattern our triggers into a negative state.
A beautiful concept is that we all, through our nobility, our dignity & our personal responsibility can positively affect not just our own life, but the world as well.

What are you noticing in the air around you?
Last newsletter, I suggested the energy was of Phoenix Rising (out of the fire). When there’s fire, there’s smoke, but that’s clearing now. What’s left? This might sound silly, but after you are done looking at the obvious, take a moment to look at what is in between the more solid bits… If all of space is a tree, look between the leaves. Where is their movement coming from?
Black & White (and gray)
As the energies within and around us are transitioning (and elevating), the world can look a little more black and white. The shadows are a little deeper and it looks like the sun is shining a little brighter. This puts us in a particular position: *we see more* While you wouldn’t think of that as necessarily problematic, it does mean that as our view changes we become more responsible.
What does the view and responsibility have to do with each other anyway?
Well, if you are reading this, you are probably someone who is committed to yourself: your Growth and your Truth. You are brave, courageous and willing to be wrong, see clearly and honor All that Is around you.
(This is as compared to someone who is just going about living life casually and without much conscious thought to their deeper purpose; not incorrectly, simply at a different layer.)
When the smoke clears before you, you see more clearly and appreciate different flow around the circumstances that might have been in a gray zone before. Whatever is there, is there presenting you with a choice:
- Align with your new view, or align with the pre-existing view.
Sounds simple. Maybe if you live on a desert island by yourself. Different people will see different things, draw different conclusions and make different choices. It is your job, as the responsible person that you are, to stay true to yourself while cooperating with others and Universal forces; follow & empower the flow.
This is where many people get caught.
- It is simple because you know your truth.
- It seems hard because of the change. Especially when the change affects everything around you.
What about compromise?
- Do you hold to your truth hard and fast?
- Do you create time (wait or use patience) for the physical adjustments?
- Do you pretend you never saw or know?
Your choice will be a unique blend determined by your past experiences, your goals, your soul contracts / relationships, your motivations, your willingness…
Hard fast truth shrinks the timeline. Can you cope with the accompanying stress of rapid change? If you are excessively considerate of others, is there enough of yourself in the equation to avoid resentment? (it’s your choice after all) Are you going to ignore your truth because the perceived risk is too high? For how long? What can you live with? Consider external motivations that will give temporary & unfulfilling result: martyr, hero, provider, addict… (yes, they are the archetypes)
There is no ‘right’ answer because you are an aspect of All that Is, but your motivation will determine if you feel stuck, liberated, resentful, excited… The *only* approach that will ever feel right is the approach that:
- Honors You First, Within Creation
Put another way: Honoring your leaf on the tree of life.
And knowing that you aren’t just the tree, but the wind that moves the leaves, too.
This is huge, but the gist of it comes back to my 2 rules:
- Do your best.
- Be true to yourself.
Lastly, in keeping with the tree example, you are lovingly supported by a solid tree trunk and using this as a visualization or as a meditative exercise will work to help you maintain your focus.
With many Blessings from me to you.
