Description of the meditation "Grace & Care."

Setting the Sacred Intentions at the beginning of the meditation is one of my favorite parts… the end is the other! Thank you Suzanne Holman for making the original request.

Centering in Your Being through Grace & Care

There is no foundation if you are not Centered in your Being. What does that mean anyways?

It is like a compass and so very often in our lives concerns come up and we redirect our compass to externals like: relationships, money & other stressors.

This meditation is quite clear about the differentiation between you and:

the scenery & colors

a companion you meet on the path & the guide ahead of you…

This is important because often times Big Hearted and Well Meaning People are strongly affected by the externals that have your attention and these externals can seem to become a part of you. Independence from these negative influences through compassion and care is inclusive, supportive and kind. It is in accepting this into your lives that you can offer it to others in a Greater fashion.

To be Centered and Empowered means:

you may accept appropriate help and not be clingy

you may express your emotions without having them rule your responses

you will have a neutral position when expectations come up

you are empowered to honor the situation for all it has to offer

Practice the meditation to strengthen your experiences, visualizations & imagery, and be better able to carry this intention into your life.

What scenery did you notice?

What colors did you see?

Was your companion male or female? Was there recognition?

What was your gift?

Nina Wallinder interviewing Suzanne Holman on Layers of Health about Coaching and life challenges.

Her wisdom and offerings are born of deep and life changing experiences.

Coaching

Suzanne Holman specializes in working with people who have challenging family situations that impact the rest of their lives. She herself works in a location independent fashion to accommodate her family.

She walked us through key points in her own life journey starting with challenges to do with having young children, including being put on bedrest and twins. She worked at integrating health priorities such as nutrition and exercise ~ not easy with a young family and accepting help was key.

As a woman keen on learning, Suzanne chose to get her Masters degree in Counseling with Honors, as a single mother of three children. Through this time she never lost her health focus even with a packed schedule, and even scheduling fun was important.

Children & her education presented different challenges, but the next events in her life were large mountains to climb.

Suzanne survived a car accident in which her partner died suddenly.

She spent the last cherished times with her dad before he died of cancer.

She supported her daughter in trying times within her family situation as well as through the critical health issues of her grandson.

Through these times she transitioned from her teaching career into coaching others. Even with these life experiences and professional training, she has an immense foundation for helping others, but she narrowed her focus even further when she found out that her mother had Alzheimer’s.

I am in awe of Suzanne. She has taken her every challenge and transformed the experiences into deep understanding that she approaches each person with whom she works. With dignity and courage she has approached her life situations, staying true to herself and maintaining a family focus.

On the call, she generously shared Stephen Covey’s exercise for assessing whether your priorities are Urgent and Important. Do this exercise to evaluate how you are spending your time. Thank you Suzanne for sharing this with us!
